Hey everyone – I recently bought a TD30 and have been wanting to use it with Progressive Foundry SDX. I’m having a really hard time getting a natural feel for the samples, particularly with the Hi-Hat.
Any other users willing to share their presets or settings? Or maybe just some important tips. It’s my first EDrumkit, and it’s quite advanced, so I’m really starting from scratch here.
I’ve spent countless hours working with the velocity curve of the HH and messing with midi mapping to try to get it even somewhat natural sounding, and I feel like I’ve hit a dead end at this point.
Thanks.
Which TD30 hats , VH13 or 11 ??
I found vh12/13 to be much better than a vh11 just sayin and thats with changing pad settings for each and just the internal TD30 sounds.
Lets hope TT have their end sorted, but you would think it should carry over.
Also, Have you tried SD2 set using E Drums preset for input Mapping?
I have a TD 30 KV, with VH-13 hat. I feel at this point, I have gotten just about as close as I can to realistic hat sound. I am also using the progressive foundry. I’m going to play with it a bit more and then share my settings. The only thing I’m still really unhappy with at this point is the transition sounds when opening or closing after you have hit it. Unfortunately, this seems to be a limitation of superior drummer so I don’t know that there’s much you can do about it.
