Hi All
I’m having problems with EZ Drummer crashing or resetting my Alesis Sample Rack.
I connect the Alesis Sample rack via usb to my laptop (8G memory and Quad-core Processor) everything talks and looks good. I set up the correct midi-notes in relation to the software and everything works. After about 10 – 15 mins of playing suddenly the software stops working and isn’t seeing the midi from the Sample Rack and the connection is broken. I close EZ Drummer remove the usb, reconnect and restart EZ Drummer and it all works again?
My drum kit is using internal triggers from Tiggera which are a good quality and work ok with the Alesis module when playing without EZ Drummer.
The problem only seems to happen when I hook up via usb. The settings are all setup in the E drums setting and I’ve tried other setting experiencing the same problem over and over again? Could this be a software problem?
Is anyone having the same issues?
Can anyone help me please or advise?
Thanks
Dave
Hi,
from your account history, it doesn’t seem like you have downloaded the EZdrummer 2.1.1 update, which is a good start.
I can see you have downloaded Toontrack solo, which is more intended for EZdrummer 1 and Superior 2 users.
Please use EZdrummer 2’s own standalone application.
Is the Alesis Sample Rack Firmware updated?
Which OS are you using?

Hi John
Thanks for coming back to me.
I’m currently running Windows 10, and I have updated the EZ Drummer 2 to 2.1.1. The Alesis Sample Rack is also the latest firmware update and these were done when I very first installed and set up. Windows 10 has also been updated along with drivers. I am also using Asio 4 All drivers to deal with any latencey issues first experienced.
I have tried altering various settings to see if it makes any difference, but no luck. The EZ Drummer 2 just stops dead with no warning, I check all the settings and everything is fine. I pull the usb and restart EZD 2 and everything works again. It’s very puzzling as well as frustrating when trying to rehearse.
I have also tried plugging my Alesis USB Mixing Desk and routing the sound through that but the problem continues. I tried this as I thought I would rule out any issues with the sound card and software.
