Hi all,
I have bought DM10 and EZD2 and cannot set it up to work properly.
I have mixed sounds (like hitting crash and hear tom2 or something).
I can’t find EZD2 midi map to setup signals in DM10 head.
If someone have it somewhere please share ?
(or / and did I miss something?)
Thanks for help ..
Hi,
go to the Menu and select E-drums mapping according to the attached picture.

Thanks John .. unfortunately I have tried it and it does not help.
1. tom4 is giving me the sound of closed HH
2. HH pedal when pressed gives me sound of the crash1
3. crash1 choke gives me crash1 + kick drum
Anything else I could check or you could advise me with ?
BTW all toms are 2 zone (rim) anyway I could custom that ?
If selecting ‘Alesis’ as Manufacturer doesn’t work, my guess would be that your module isn’t at Factory Settings, can you check this?

I have updated it few min ago (firmware) and set it up for exact model I have (studio version) .. still no change.
I can reset it to the factory settings although I have unpacked it like a week ago .. no real changes were made.
But OK .. let me try and get back to you …
ok .. here we go:
1. crosstalk – (hearing few different sounds the same time) – Will try it now :
http://community.alesis.com/alesis/topics/some_issues_with_dm_10_studio_kit
Should be doable.
2. mapping – I have just sit on it and (correct me if I am wrong)
I was able to setup DM10 toms (including rims)
to the proper values – EZD2 midi notes [attached]
Interestingly enough first 3 toms of DM10 were setup Racktom2, Racktom3 and Floortom1 not Racktom1-3
But DM10 head is not allowing to change Midi notes of the cymbals – which are all mixed up.
So all of this was for nothing.
So John .. we will need your assistance as as far I can see choosing Alesis in EZD2 sets wrong Midi notes
at least for us here.
Please advise
or (I beg of you!!!) add mapping to the EZD2 line.
I (and tons of other people) would really appreciate this functionality.
(to use cheaper e-drum sets but having some ability to customize them).
Most of people will not buy SD
1. because of the money
2. because is huge overkill just for this one feature.
We really do not need all this options of SD.
Even EZD2 is to much – I do not need song writing tools.
All I’ve really bought EZD for is e-drum functionality.
That could be another product – EZ e-Drummer
just for people like me who would like to play drums home with world class drum sound – nothing else.
What do you think guys ?
BTW .. thanks for your work on this product! – because of this software I have decided to even buy e-drum kit to learn to play it …
Two thumbs up!
just waiting for this answer to buy the damm thing! , love the product but this issue is foundamental.
thanks
in the interim, you could probably create a custom kit on your Alesis to match something known like Roland’s mappings? and then use the Roland mapping.
I found myself doing something similar with drum products that didn’t support my Yamaha set up.
Intel 13900K, Windows 11 , Cubase Pro 13.0.30, Studio One 6.2.1.64495, 64GB RAM, UA Apollo x4 and UA Apollo X8 Thunderbolt,, 64 sample buffer size, Radeon 570, 42″ 4k monitor
MIDI controller: Roland A-37, Jamstik Studio, MCU Pro + expander
Drum Brain: Yamaha DTX 900, RHH135 hihat, 2 crash and 1 ride cymbal, 4 toms.
