I’ve had the SD2 plugin uninstalled on my main rig, but still have the sample media on an HDD for the SD2 core kits and NY vol 2. Do I need to reinstall SD2 before installing SD3 for all these kits to show up, or is there another way of adding them manually to SD3 without re-installing SD2? Thanks.
Hi. I started the download of SD3 i could not wait till the other parts are downloaded and installed so i took a peek into SD3 an used the Kits and Grooves from SD2 and EZ2 . All worked fine here. Everything was available from the start i didn’t choose the installation path was automaticly in SD3
That’s good to know Pedda_1, but it’s not quite my position. At the moment I don’t have SD2 installed at all, so I don’t see how it can know where my paths are. My guess is I’d have to re-install SD2 first even if I then uninstall it again after SD3, but it would be good to have this confirmed.
Hi,
please see the manual on how to point the software to libraries:

Thank you John – happy to report this has worked well. I also needed to update each sound library with the latest versions on the website, and once done everything working perfectly.
Hi Guys (John in particular)
I have a very similar query………. just purchased SD3 and am currently downloading the sound libraries (I live in the middle of nowhere and have poor internet connectivity).
Once all libraries are downloaded I figure that with my already installed SD2, my Mac’s hard drive is gonna find itself pretty darned full all of a sudden
So here’s what I’m thinking………. If I buy a 1TB external hard drive, partition it, then simply move both SD2 & SD3 sets of sound libraries and their respective functionalities to it, would this be feasible?
If so, are there any pointers on how this would be best achieved?

I did this exact thing and it is quite easy to achieve. Move all your SL-* folders to a folder on your new drive, then in SD3 go to Settings > Libraries > Browse for Library Paths and navigate to the folder where you put the library. That should do it.
