I’ve been writing my own stuff and using cubase for 7 years now. I made the decision to use Addictive Drums drum map as it was supported by all the drum plugins I was using. (steven slate , studio drummer , addictive drums)
Recently I tried the demo on Ez drummer and was quite impressed to say the least but i’m left with a legacy of music stuck in the addictive drums format.
Is there a work around or a way of getting EZ drummer to read them in real time as accurately as possible?
is there any other solution other than going through and remapping everything which if i’m honest is such a task after all these years it might just be a deal breaker.
Is this an Issue with Superior Drummer at all? is superior drummer capable of doing this?
Hi,
EZplayer Pro has got AD1 and AD2 maps and can convert from that to Toontrack compliant MIDI. It can’t be done truly on-the-fly, though.
You would have to have your AD MIDI in a folder, which then EZplayer Pro can convert. It would be possible to preview files in that folder wrapped to the correct format but if you have several MIDI files for different song parts, you would need to put them on an Arranger Track in EZplayer Pro to feed EZdrummer 2 to hear them in sequence and context.
Alternatively just drag and drop the entire song to your DAW.
Superior 2 allows for creating your own MIDI Presets, so creating your personal AD MIDI Preset would be possible, yes. Once you have made one, it can be loaded and applied to your kit.

That’s a bit of shame. Looks like if I make the purchase I have a lot of work to do.
Not so EZ after all.
