    Perhaps you have two versions of GarageBand installed on your iMac.
    The info shot you’ve posted shows GarageBand 6.0.5 released in 2012 with your iMac purchase.
    I do not believe that GarageBand had yet moved to 64-bit in this version.

    Please try a Spotlight Search for other versions of GarageBand on your iMac.
    If no others exist, a small paid upgrade may be in order.

    Tip #4 of this article will show you how to determine which (running) programs are 64-bit or not….

    you could be right i did indeed save gb app and songs to desktop before purchasing a standalone backup .and left it there . will try deleting it and see what happens

    just deleted it now works a treat . there you are we have all learnt a lesson don’t leave daw apps as backup on your desktop . well done that man
