To the developers…bravo! I now have a plug-in, at least for the time being that I use in every session since I’ve purchased it. After working with it for a few weeks now I have 1 request and one question. I know that for further editing of a part, once you have the chords and progression to your liking, you can then drag it to your DAW and do further editing there. However, it would be nice to have the ability to edit, even in just piano scroll the chord or phrase. It would save a lot of time in the composition process. At this time I have to construct the progression with the anomalies of the chord as they come out of the file, drag them into the DAW, fix it there, then do an export midi file, then on EZ-Keys do an import, and finally drag it back to the work area if I want to do further constructions. I saw a thread that had a request to do a drag back to EZ-Keys and that would work as a stop-gap, however I think it would be a time saver to be able to edit in the plugin.
My question is after I’ve been dragging parts into my DAW (ProTools) and editing there I’ve noticed a little quirk. Some fingers (midi notes in the chord) have a double strike. I’m wondering if this is by design or a product of the hammers bouncing.
The last item is what may be considered a bug. I was editing a solo passage of an intro I had just dragged into the DAW and had muted EZ-Keys ‘work progression’. I had stretched the dragged the dragged progression to be 1 bar longer than what was in EZ-Keys and extended the sustain pedal to the end of the region. Then I muted EZ-Keys to hear the DAW. At that point I discovered that muting EZ-Keys doesn’t mute the sustain pedal, only the note on-off. The work around is obvious, but I thought I’d mention it.
In closing I think EZ-Keys is all-pro killer and I’m looking forward to future developments. I’m a guitarist, but I like to use the piano for composition at times and block chords just don’t get it when it comes to performance or writing. It’s already elevated my productivity many times. Thanks again for a great product.
