Yes, you can have both versions installed at the same time.

Indeed! I bought lite and then the update to the full version. Both were resident on my HD. I had to deinstall the lite version first, in order to install the 64 Bit upgrade. Now the 32 bit and the 64 bit Full versions are available. thanks Michael

Dunno what happend, but suddenly some samples from the Defaultkit are missing. I don’t have the first snare Top and bottom anymore, also the first Ride ist missing. for Hats and first kick the room samples are missing as well. My EZdrummer is a LITE+Upgrade version. In order to be able to install the 64bit version, I was told to deinstall LITE, so I did. Then I could install the 64 Upgrade as well. I’m pretty sure it worked well when I tried it out the first time. Now I’m irritated. I copied over all sounds, from the LITE and the Ugrade CDs into the soundfolder again, but it won’t work. any ideas? Thanks Michael

grrr, all good, I copied them in the wrong folder. Fixed! Anyway. I’m still wondering how samples can disappear for no obvious reason. rock on Michael

Hopefully someone will reply to this old thread.

Will an install of EZD2 work in 2 different DAWs, one 64bit and one 32bit or the software would have to be installed twice separately? EZD installers seem to have separate 32/64 bit installation. My case scenario is that I would like to also install a Cubase 5 32bit I have from long ago in order to open, preview and save some older projects and bring them over to the new 64bit DAW I am using and I’d like to know how can I have EZD running in the 64bit  DAW as well as be available to the older 32bit Cuabse install.

    Hi Lavarius,

if you run both the 32-bit and 64-bit installers they can reside on the same system, provided that the ‘EZHOME’ repository where sounds and MIDI is installed is in the 32-bit path (x86).

    • The default install path for a Toontrack VST plug-in on 32-bit Windows is:
      C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\Toontrack
    • The default install path of the 32-bit VST plug-in on 64-bit Windows is:
      C:\Program Files (x86)\VstPlugins\Toontrack
    • Finally, the default install path of the 64-bit plug-in on 64-bit Windows is:
      C:\Program Files\VstPlugins\Toontrack

    BR,

    John

Thanks. So I would basically have to run both installers and then whatever is common between them (as far as files) would be simply overwritten the second time around? What if I decide to install the content (the EZHOME repo) elsewhere, on a second drive if that can be user selected? What would that have to do with the 32/64 bit paths then?

I guess I am also trying to understand the concept a little 🙂

If you are Custom installing the EZHOME location on another drive than your system drive, both versions will see the content.

What poses a problem is when/if you install the EZHOME location in the 64-bit path, i.e. ‘C:\Program Files\’, then the 32-bit version can’t access it.
