Bandmate: does AI use installed MIDI patterns to create drums/keys patterns?

  When I am feeding in a bassline and using the bandmate feature to create drums and or keys from it, does the AI algorithm freely create on the fly OR will the instrument patterns it produces for drums and or keys be limited by the packs I have installed?  In other words, if I install more midi packs for drums and keys, will it be able to create and output more accurate variations to choose from?
