Hey guys,
I´m about to switch from PC to Mac.
All my libraries are on a dedicated SSD drive but formated for PC (NTFS)
How can I get all my files work on Mac?
Or ist it even better to download everything from Toontracks Product Manager?
Thanks in advance for your expertise
Henry

Hi,
your Mac (since OS Catalina, I believe) will read the NTFS drive but it can’t write to it, which can pose problems down the line, if you want to install something new on that drive.
If you must keep the drive NTFS formatted, there is 3rd party software that can help with this.
I would simply copy the data to another drive temporarily, format the SSD drive to APFS, then copy the data back. Unless you need to access the drive from a PC as well, then I would choose exFAT.
BR,
John

Hi John,
Thanks for your reply!
tomorrow I will get my new Mac Studio M2 Max, I guess it will have Sonoma come with it.
I will switch completly to Apple, so I may reformat all mydrives for Mac then.
Since I have a one authorization left I rather use it and prepare my new system from ground up…
What do you think?
stay tuned... Henry
