Currently, the 32 mono outs are only available in Cubase/Nuendo according to the settings tab. Since I’m working in Reaper and Studio One instead and usually use 20-24 mics in most of my projects, I would highly appreciate the ability to route the channels separately. As it is right now, I, for example, need to waste a whole stereo out for kick in, one for kick out, one for snare top, one for snare bottom (then some other snares layered on top), then I got several toms, OHs, several rooms, etc. etc. The 16 stereo outs are not enough, thus I rely on workarounds resulting in unnecessary work.
Being able to utilize all the channels separately would solve that workflow issue.
Nice to have: While we’re at it, upping the number to 64 outs would probably cover absolutely all use cases for us mere mortals. Just had a project where I really needed to go deep into my SDX Death kit (and you know, it has more mics that the ocean has water in cm³) and flipped between VSTi and rendered tracks several times. I usually pre-sum them within SD3, but this was a rare case of “more outs would have been handy”.
Have a great day everyone!
