First off, I think we should be able to re-order the busses. Sometimes I create a bus for something after I’ve created other busses, but I’d like for it to be in a different order. For example, say I created a bus for the kick mics and another for the toms and sent them to bus 1 and 2, respectively. Then I decided I wanted to create a bus for all the snare mics. I’d rather the bus order be kick (bus 1), snare (bus 2), toms (bus 3), but to my knowledge they can’t be reordered. We should be able to drag a busses and place them into a different order if we want to.
I like to add in some parallel distortion to things like my snare mics, but I’d like to be able to do it after the processing on the main mics and without the fader driving more or less into the distortion module. Sure, I could just dial in the frequency gate, but I’d rather be able to send only the direct mic pre-fader but post-effect and cancel out the bleed. I’m guessing the problem is that once they’ve been run through the effects, both the direct and bleed sounds are baked into each other? Is there not a way for the program to be able to send only the direct mic sounds through the effects and then to a bus?
On a related note… pre-fader busses need to be muted when soloing individual channels. I’m not sure why this is a thing lol
Why doesn’t the transient designer have an “out” slider? I find it extremely odd that the controls can drastically affect the output yet there’s no way to compensate for that. It’d be even better if all modules had a selectable auto-gain function so that we could dial in without having to manually compensate, which would make our decisions much more effective
Finally, just as another suggestion as this isn’t really an issue at the moment, being able to set where in the effects chain the send occurs would also add to the power of the program. For example, you say you wanted to EQ and compress the snare mic, but you only wanted to send the EQ’d signal to the bus and not the compression. You could be able to tell the mixer that you want the send to occur in between the EQ and compression modules
