    Hi,

I do not want to call myself experienced rock mixer but I do think that you can dial in some of those drum sounds with the SD3 Core library; e.g. select the California Punk Preset, dial down the Ambience and Reverb, then up with the Comp but perhaps turn down the Kick somewhat. Try replacing the Main Snare and Kick from the same library.

Other than that, I think that the Avatar, Legacy of Rock, Fields of Rock (Stone) and Hansa (Vocal Booth) probably are contenders for getting that sound. Not any ready presets but there should be at least something to start from.

As John suggested, there are a number of “dry” presets with the core library that you can use as a starting point. Using either the Premier Genista or Pearl Masterworks (or possibly the Ayotte) kits with a dialed down ambience will get you started. Some EQ & Compression will be required for a rock type of mix.

I would also agree with John as far as Legacy of Rock & Fields of Rock SDX since these are definitely geared to the rock genre with LoR being more classic rock in nature (considering that Eddie Kramer is synonymous with the genre).

Plenty of options to achieve that sound.
