I’d love to see the timeline tweaked a little.
Non 4/4 time seems to cause problems with snapping when zoomed out (don’t worry you’re in good company with this one, Reason also suffers from this bug).
The top ticker tape markers are also a tad too separated for my liking, I’d love to be able to change that to display sub-grid markers sooner so I can snap to them quicker, or maybe you can come up with a fun way to quickly dial in granular snapping e.g. you could use the cursor keys or scroll wheel up/down while dragging to temporarily increase the resolution for that drag.
I’d love a keyboard shortcut for replace/fill when dragging onto an existing clip. You can have a clip fill up the space cutting it down to fit if you drag it into an empty gap but if there’s an existing clip it will want to overwrite everything, even multiple clips when you may only want a small portion.
Drag clip contents shortcut/tool. To go with the above, often I want to have only the start or end of a clip, if I could drag the contents instead of the clip itself that would be a faster workflow than dragging each end till (or using the knife tool) I have the portion I want.
Per instrument lanes in the main timeline. Before you go “Grid Editor!” I really mean the main timeline because that’s where you combine midi clips not edit the notes individually. I want to be able to mix and match clips maybe taking the hi-hats from one and replacing them in another, keeping everything else, without doing all the surgery within a DAW.
Better silhouettes when dragging. If you are zoomed in on a set of clips and want to move them over e.g. by one bar it can be hard to see what you’re doing as they become one solid white bar with no visible change between clip ends or any other marker and you have to hope they match up to where the mouse is accurately when you let go.
