I’m using Mixcraft as DAW but currently evaluating Reaper. Mixcraft is 32bit, Reaper is 64bit. I’m wondering if it’s possible to install both versions of EZdrummer. The installer tells me to deinstall the 32bit first, but I want keep it. EZdrummer 32 works in Reaper as well, but I have issues that the plugin doesn’t get loaded sometimes. Cheers.
Hi,
it is possible to have both installed but in different locations.
The EZdrummer 2 content (sound library and MIDI files) must then be installed into the x86 path (e.g. C\Program Files (x86)\Toontrack), as well as the 32-bit .dll file (e.g. C\Program Files (x86)\VSTPlug-Ins\Toontrack) and the 64-bit .dll file must be installed into the 64-bit path (e.g. C:\Program Files\VSTPlug-Ins\Toontrack\.
Your host(s), be it 32-bit or 64-bit, cannot be allowed to scan both and use some kind of internal wrapper to load them. Your 32-bit hosts should only be pointed to the 32-bit .dll and your 64-bit hosts pointed to the 64-bit .dll.
