Cannot both adjust the length and save midi groove to user midi

  I am taking a midi groove and dragging it down for editing.  I am trying to shorten it from 8 bar to 4 bar length.  I have tried this both by simply dragging it shorter and also by cutting it in half and deleting the second half.  Either way, when I go to add to user midi it is adding it as an 8 bar even after I have shortened ...
