In the current version of Superior Drummer 3, if you click on “save as” or “export as (…) file”, depending on what you’re trying to save (project, preset, etc), sometimes it opens the dialog with the target folder (where you file will be saved), but sometimes it doesn’t (when you try to save (drums and mixer) presets for instance), which is very annoying.
Indeed, opening the target folder allows you to see the names of the existing files, and name your new files accordingly.
Ex : if you had saved a “MyMetalPreset_20200506_01” preset in the past, now you just have to click on the “MyMetalPreset_20200506_01” file so that the “file name” field of the file you’re currently saving gets filled with “MyMetalPreset_20200506_01”, and then you just have to replace “01” by “02” for instance, to get your new preset file name right.
Without this dialog, you always have to type your preset name in its entirety, or go in your browser to find your existing presets and copy their name, which is very annoying.
Toontrack please make sure that wherever (including the (drums and mixer) presets menu) you click on “save as” or “export as (…) file” in SD3, it opens the target folder dialog, so that you can name and save your file easily.
I attached pictures of the SD3 behaviour regarding this matter, and you can see that the (drums and mixer) presets “save us” doesn’t open the target folder dialog, whereas this dialog opens when you want to save projects or export MIDI for instance.
