I’m a total newbie and have several questions. Thanks in advance for indulging my ignorance. I really love what I see and think it will be a great tool, but I’m stuck on how to actually get it to work in my set-up. I’m ready to buy but for this one issue:
I am using a Tascam 32SD PortaStudio (no midi connection). I’m trying to determine how to record each drum sound to its own track. It’s possible, of course, that I have no idea what I’m talking about, and/or that I don’t understand the workings of EZ Drummer 2.
I have a similar question to nathaniz. I am new to EZ Drummer 2. I’m using it standalone with a Tascam DP32SD and use the mixer screen before exporting the wav file to the tascam (which is a great feature). However, it would be great to be able to have the individual drum tracks to be able to mix it further on the portastudio if neccessary when mixing the whole song.
Is there a way of getting the individual drum sounds into wav format so that I can say export up to 8 separate drum sounds instead of 1 complete track. As far as I’m aware, the Tascam only recognises .wav files.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Hi guys,
AFAICT, the Tascam’s USB connection is only for transferring files which means any syncing is not possible.
If you wish to have separate files per instrument fader, you must solo it in the mixer, then ‘Export Song as WAVE file’ on the Song Track.
After Export, transfer your files to the Tascam.

Thanks for clearing that up, John. I guess I’ll use the solo route and see how that works for me. As long as the tracks line up that should give me the flexibility I’m looking for. A bit long winded maybe, but hopefully the end result will be good.
Hi John,
I am also using the Tascam Dp32Sd and EZ Drummer 2.
I have exported files and imported them into the Tascam many times. Recently I have set up a new computer with windows 10 (previous computer was 8.1). Now when I try to import the drum track the Tascam won’t accept the file. To make them compatible the drum track and new song on the Tascam have to have the same Bit rate and Hz.
I’ve selected 24 bit and 44.1 hz and the 24bit drum track I’m not sure what Hz the EZ drummer exports, but it used to work so I’m guessing 44.1 hz. When I check the properties of the drum track it says “ 2305kbs. I’m not sure if that’s the problem.
Any ideas? Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Alan
