Hi,
I can’t get EZDrummer working with Garageband 10.3.2.
Other Plugins are working, but EzDrummer doesn’t show up as AU Unit.
Already tried to delete the Cache Files, but it’s still won’t be detected.
I can also confirm that there is a EZdrummer.component in /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/ along with my other Plugin (which works fine).
Edit: Reinstalling Garageband wasn’t solving the Problem.
Please tell me how to get this working.
Best regards
Make sure you are loading an instrument and not an effect.

If you have recently installed EZdrummer, it may help to log out from the computer and back in (or reboot).
If that doesn’t help, please post a screenshot of where in GarageBand you are expecting it to appear.

Hi Olof,
just finished reinstalling EZdrummer, which sadly didn’t fix the issue.
Tried several reboots.
Funny Sidenote: Reaper is detected Ezdrummer as a Plugin :/
Attached is the Screenshot where Toontrack should be listed.
Edit: I think the problem is that Garageband is never rescanning the plugins.
I never get the window shown here: https://youtu.be/Kb8YiP8W5DM?t=190
I also only have the following files:
1. ~/Library/Caches/AudioUnitCache/com.apple.audiounits.sandboxed.cache
2. ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.audio.InfoHelper.plist
While the video also notes some other files.
Edit2:
I tried to create a new user on my mac, then firing up garageband. It is scanning for Plugins, but EZDrummer is still not shown. :/
Best regards
I just installed a new plugin to see if the problem here is Ezdrummer or Garageband.
The other Plugin is showing up flawlessly in Garageband.
Thus I assume it has something to do with Ezdrummer.
Are there any logs I can take a look at or share which would be helpful?
Best regards
EDIT: attached 2 screenshots to proof that EZdrummer component and VST is installed.

Thanked by: futureteenidol and OlofOh my god.
I feel so embarassed. Works perfectly, thanks!
You shouldn’t feel bad. Loading external plugins in Garageband is far from easy 🙂

Hi, I’m having this exact issue, even with a software instrument track. EZMix2 shows up in AU but not EZDrummer2. It’s not in AU Instruments, AU Generators or in the effects. I’m on a new macbook pro with mojave 10.14.5. , garageband 10.3.2. I’m really hoping I’ll be able to open my saved files with all of my ezdrummer plugin midi that I edited and saved in garageband on my previous mac.
hello there, I´m planning to buy a EZ drummer 2 and a metal expand for that christmas sale, I got a Mac catalina 10.15.2 and I would like to know if works fine and supports everything in garage band, just not to buy in vain….hope you guys answer me, cheers
What does this mean>
Make sure you are loading an instrument and not an effect.

I set up a software track in garageband and when I go down to where the audio units are and click
I don’t see EZ Drummer 2 in the menu. How am I loading an effect instead of an instrument?
