I believe I found a no answer in a year old post, but wanted to confirm; Is it still not possible to remap kit pieces? If not, any chance this is being considered for an update?

It’s not possible to re-map MIDI in EZdrummer 2, nor is it planned to be implemented. These features are implemented in the big brother, Superior Drummer 3.

Hello
Just want to make sure I understand it. I bought an edrum from Thomann and let’s say, there are 2 cymbal pads which are probably a crash and a ride. If I want to make it 2 crashes, I can’t do that on ezdrummer 2?
And if I change that in the module that comes with the edrum, will EZdrummer 2 recognize and therefore allow me to use it as 2 crashes, for instance?
Thanks
Hi Ed,
you can’t re-map MIDI notes inside EZdrummer 2, no. But if you change the MIDI note that is sent from the module to a note that is received as a Crash instead of a Ride, then that will work, yes.

Ezdrummer pads can have their sound changed by other samples within similar categories. I mean that yes, you can change a ride for the sound of a a crash very easily.
In my case, the mapping of a Gewa is flawed and the tom rims trigger a cymbal so, for me, there is nothing to be done, considering that I’m not using a DAW or any sort of audio software.
