I must ask though.. Is there a way where i didn’t want the ability to adjust all of those technical audio aspects, and just be able to record straight with the drum kit from hell? (Logic or GB)
Well, the “problem” is that EZdrummer isn’t set up for E-drumming, that’s why you need to use Toontrack solo as your host since it has an ‘E-drums’ controller option to remap the GM standard notes correctly, as well a HH controller basic setup which can be further tweaked with a ‘Curve’ correction.
If you use another host, your hihats will (most likely) sound cut off and j e r k y while hitting the pad and moving your foot.
Its just that Superior seems a bit pricy for me compared to the base software package.
Buying EZdrummer + the dfh EZX expansion would almost cost you as much as buying the Superior 2 basic package (MSRP) unless you find a deal somewhere, which can be even cheaper.
Also, i can probably get similar sounds without buying the expansion.. Correct?
Are you referring to the dfh EZX and the basic EZdrummer POP/ROCK kit?
Well, in Superior 2 you can pretty much EQ, compress, parallel compress, etc. to make it sound more like the dfh EZX Metal sounds but not so inside EZdrummer.
You’d need to tweak that in your host (Logic).

John
