I posted a new song on my music website called ‘Watch Out For Us”. It has POP! EZX drums and some non-toontrack drums. Please tell me how you like the song and how it can be improved, and I can return the favor if you wish. It is the song at the top of this link:

Had a listen, and tbh it’s not my cup of tea.
However, a few things i personally think could make it better.
I don’t think you should have the rota toms going on/panning during a verse, it distracts from the lyrics/song. I’d also lift the vox up a little bit at Choruses, and maybe add a little rhythmic cowbell for an extra little lift.
Bass drum i think it could come through a bit more, EQ’d and shorter release for a bit more punch and cut through the mix a bit.
Also think maybe you should try a multiband compressor on the overall output and try get some dynamics going on.
And listening to it on my cheapo headphones (at my work), it seems a little quiet? maybe a limiter on the output channel and crank it up a bit? and i can’t really hear any bass (prob due to these headphones).
Really like what you done with the vox at 1.25 ish….. the delay thing, very very cool!
Hope that helps/keeps you busy! lol
rallyboy101,
Thank you for listening and commenting! I’ve only tried one multi-band compressor (maybe 2), and I have yet to have good luck with that. But that was years ago. Maybe I’ll have better luck with some more recent software? Have any recommendations for a good multi-band compressor plug-in? Since you liked the delay thing on the vocals, I will let you know that was a plug-in called Glitch Bitch (I didn’t name it).
Are you from a particular country or state? I’m always curious when people comment on my music. Leave me a link if you want me to check out any music you’ve done.

Most of the hosts will prob have a multi-band, I use Cubase 5 and it has one, but I use UAD cards and have their multi-band. I think Waves will do one. Just start one on a mastering preset and take it from there.
I’m from UK.
I’ve got a YouTube channel with some older stuff on it but I’ll post a link to some recent stuff when I get something finished, I’ve not long started tinkering again ??
rallyboy101,
I have Cubase AI 8, which could be the cheapest version of 8; it came with my steinberg interface. I’ll have to check if it has a multi-band compressor. I just know my u-he Presswerk (non-multi-band) compressor works better than the regular compressor I had with Cubase LE4. I am on Mac OSX 10.9.5, which I don’t think works with anything Waves currently; though I have demoed some of their plug-ins in the past.
