Hi everyone. I just got SD3 and have downloaded most of it. I am wondering how do I get the sounds to come out of my Roland PM-100 Amp. The sound come out from my Laptop but not the AMP. I am using the Alesis Strike Pro kit, not sure what I need to change on the Alesis module to get it to play the SD3 sounds. I have it connected via the USB cable but do have MIDI cables as well if needs be.
I did a bit more reading, and I think I understand. Its obvious that the sound is not going to come out of my amp and the sound is coming from the laptop. If I plug headphones into the laptop then i get the SD3 sounds. My laptop has a crappy audio card, my PC and awesome Creative X-Fatality card.
So my question is how do i get the sound from the Laptop to AMP whilst maintaining high quality audio? From what I can work out (and this was something on my shopping list anyway) is that I would need a audio interface of some kind? Would that be correct? So I would plug the audio interface into the Laptop, select that as the output and then run a cable from the interface to the amp.
If this is the case would you also be able to suggest a product? FYI I dont only have drums that can make use of this, I play electric guitar and also do a little music production with a Maschine M3 and a Launckey Midi Keyboard.
Any help would be awesome.
