Sorry this isn’t pre-sales but it appears there is no other SD3 forum to post in yet!
When I try to open my Joe Barresi Evil Drums SDX in SD3 I’m met with an error message that says
“The sound Library Evil Drums SDX needs to be updated. Please use the Toontrack Product Manager to update”
Upon entering Product Manager, there is no available update for my Evil Drums product.
Please advise.
Thanks.
We apologize. There is no update available for the Evil Drums SDX. If you click OK from that dialogue window, the SDX should open, only with generic graphics. There will be an update to S3 to keep the error message from popping back up, but there is currently no plan to update that SDX with new graphics. It is a Platinum Samples product.

You guys should buy this library from Platinum Samples and re-distribut them. It is by bar one of the best libraries for hard rock drums available.

perfectly agreed.
whatever it takes to get this gem up and running …
especially to get it to show up in the kit piece browser.
I don’t care who does it, and I could do witnout nice pix, but the functionality should not be crippled.

Not trying to advertise a competing product on the TT board but it’s doubtful Platinum Samples would sell Evil Drums to TT since it is alive and well and still selling copies for other engines (including their own as soon as it gets ported)
+1 to get Evil Drums on the kit piece browser…as well as stopping the pop up window

I have the Evil Drums SDX and would like this resolved the way that you said. Please, put some proper graphics on this puppy.
I would actually be ok with just graphics of a generic drum kit. But it’s not even that. It’s a Roland kick pad and two other floating electronic pads?? WTH?
I don’t need fancy glitzy graphics to use my Evil Drums, but please, at least just a generic drum kit!
So, the Toontrack ads for Superior 3 state that:
“Yes! All SDX libraries will function as usual in Superior Drummer 3. Additionally, they have all been updated with new graphics for the Superior Drummer 3 format. After Superior Drummer 3 has been launched, you will find relevant updates in the Toontrack Product Manager.”
I seriously think Toontrack should honor their words and commitments!
Generic graphics would suffice. It doesn’t even look like a drum kit at this point. I understand that it was licensed from another company but it was still a product sold through TT at one time so minimal support just to keep it going would be greatly appreciated! That being said, SD3 is amazing. Thanks!

Evil Drums was never licensed nor sold by Toontrack. It is (was?) a Platinum Samples product that was sold by them through their normal channels.

So, thats it, your just going to wipe your hand of this???…. after selling me an upgrade that stated it would work on all the old sound libraries, then when it doesn’t, hide behind the small print. You guys do great stuff so please do not think that I have a lack of respect and appreciation for all the hard work you guys do, because I really do. However can you please pass the message on to your Devs that They are the ones that have created this situation, Evil drums worked perfectly fine in SD2 So why do it not work on SD3? if you are not going to resolve the issue on you end, baring in mind that we all know it is a problem on your end then that is VERY sad. I guess you’ll be doing this with your other libraries some day. Maybe all the hundreds of pounds I’ve spend will just be made obsolete!
For the sake of Toontracks reputation, fix SD3 its just a matter of programming, simple as that, no excuses!

So just to clarify:
Can you please fix the bug so Evil Drums appears on the instrument lists.
All the Best

Sorry, I wrongly assumed (without reading all posts, shame on me…) that this was a discussion about the graphics.
We will check and see if we can make the drums appear in ‘Search for Instrument…’.

Thanks for your response Erik,
I’m pleased it is just a communication breakdown.
There was me thinking you didn’t care 🙂
I hope you guys can fix it and you can let us know.
Thanks
There is an sound library update (1.0.3) available through the Product Manager now that will fix the issue of Evil Drums not appearing in Instrument Search.
