I’m trying out the ezkeys demo and watching the videos and nowhere can I find out just what I can do with a midi controller; to the extent that the videos touch on inputting chords at all, they seem to emphasize the chord wheel, which doesn’t interest me much. With a controller, am I limited to playing through the piano samples and watching the name of the chord I’ve played flash on the screen? Can I record a chord progression with it? Can I choose a figure or style and have ezkeys render the chords I’m playing in real time, like with an arranger keyboard?
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
and thank you for your interest in EZkeys.
It’s not a real-time arranger in that way, no.
You can record chords with your MIDI controller, either in small parts and join them; or just hit record and play through your song.
Afterwards, you can quantise, change the recorded chords and inversion with the Chord wheel, cut, paste, duplicate and also apply a playing style from a MIDI file in your Browser to the selected part on your Song Track. This means you can just lay down simple chords and then apply a more advanced playing style that you find and like in your MIDI Browser.

John
