Hi,
I recently purchased EZ Drummer and run it with Protools. I want to take midi I have recorded in Pro Tools and put it in the Tap To Find option in EZ Drummer. It doesn’t seem possible copy the midi and then paste it into the timeline of EZ Drummer.
In Protools you can export snippets of audio by highlighting the audio you want and then doing a bounce. Unfortunately I cannot figure out how to export a 2 bar section of midi. When you export midi you get the entire file AND all the other midi in the session (unless you delete the tracks – mute doesn’t work).
Does anyone know of a way to do this in ProTools or can you recommend a good midi editing software to export just a snippet of midi which I can bring into EZ Drummer? (Basically go back and forth between the programs).
Thanks,
Gary
You can record the MIDI from Pro Tools into the EZDrummer2 timeline.
I don’t have access to the EZD2 Operations Manual at the moment
or I’d provide you with page numbers describing the process.
It’s as Scott E says, the easiest way is just to record to the EZkeys Song track by hitting the rec button in EZkeys and then Play in Pro Tools. Provided that the MIDI in question is either on the same Instrument Track as the EZkeys plug-in or routed from another MIDI Track, that is.
BR,
John
