Life has granted me again with more spare time to write songs and do recordings at the end of this year.
This song is not a guitar instrumental as usual. It is a vocal song.
Since I am actually not a singer, the development of the song was a hard nut to crack. It took quite a while to find a good melody line and to record it in proper way.
For the Drums, I have used EZ Drummer 2 again. This is an amazing tool for none-Drummers who needs drum parts for song writing.
The song “Spooky” from Atlanta Rhythm Section was one of my inspirations for parts of the song. Great Band from the seventies. As far as I can see, they still release records on a regular base.
The song has a quite intentional melancholic mood in the light of the seventies/eighties which are the music decades were I grow up.
I therefore started the guitar lead part of the song with a Peter Green lick; honestly I am not 100% sure whether it’s from him or another player. At least: it’s not from me
Let the echoes of the seventies run through my veins – Have fun while watching:

A former band mate has supported me with additional keyboard parts, so I have also made an extended keyboard-version of this song.
After all these years, I still love that specific sound of a Fender Rhodes E-Piano :

Atlanta Rhythm Section have fallen out of my mind somehow. They had some great songs in the mid seventies. “So Into You” is their most famous one. Awesome groove. Still like them after all those years …

I started to increase my efforts in home recording and song writing this year.
Writing/Recording a complete song (incl. vocals for someone who isn’t really a singer – more backvocals in Live Bands) on its own, is a huge challenge.
Nevertheless, the complete process was fun for me.
