Hi!

1) You cannot download Superior 1 Legacy libraries and install via the Product Manager, as you can with Superior 2 SDX libraries. The easiest way would be for you to copy the entire ‘Drummer’ folder and its content to your new drive and point Superior 2 to the location.

2) Installing via the Product Manager lets you Custom Install where appropriate.

3) No, not really. It helps you keep everything updated and Authorised properly. It helps you organise and clean up Downloads. The application itself takes up about 8MB on my Macbook.

That sounds great, and I will definitely install the product manager.

One more question about installing the Superior 1 Legacy libraries: do I just copy the ‘Drummer’ folder off the CDs into my SD2 folder on my hard drive? without installing any of the installers on the DFH Superior 1 discs? or would I need to run the installers as well? to be clear: I do only want to use the Superior 1 Legacy libraries within SD2 NOT in the old user interface.

Hi,

you don’t need to run any plugin installers on the DVD:s, since you’re going to run Superior 2.
You’re on Windows, right? So you’re already familiar with copying the sound folders correctly from the DVD:s to hard drive?

Yes, I’m on Windows, just copying the sound folders from the DVDs is no problem.
Do I need to create a specific sub-folder for these sounds form Superior 1 or do I just copy it into the same folders where SD2 has it’s sound libraries installed?

Since it’s Superior 2, you can actually have the ‘Drummer’, ‘Cocktail’ and ‘Percussionist’ folders anywhere you want them to be and just point Superior 2 to their location.
What’s really important, which you already know for sure, is that the subfolder and file structure of the main folders (‘Drummer’, etc.) is intact and that you apply the final release of the SoundsUpdate for the Library (available via PM).
