Hello,
I believe I’m going to pull the trigger on EZDrummer 2 and am looking for recommendations on a hard drive for my sound library. I was considering a Lacie Thunderbolt and am wondering if SSD is necessary.
Also – do I need to move the sound library to an external drive or can in install them externally during my initial install?
Thanks, gang.
Hi,
you do not need SSD since all samples are loaded into RAM. It has got other advantages but it’s not necessary.
I’d say that the easiest way is to just Default install the base library, then move it to your desired location and relink it. All subsequent installations of EZdrummer 2 libraries and Toontrack MIDI will then automatically be installed to this location.

Thank you for be reply. I opted for a USB3 7200 rpm drive. I won’t be loading a large number of instruments so think I’ll be fine. May have gone a bit small – only got 500gb but i think it will do the trick.
