Hi. I got EZ Drummer 2 (64 bit) yesterday and it works pretty great in my Cakewalk SONAR 8 Producer Edition. One problem I’m having is when using it in SONAR, it plays back fine, but when trying to record a guitar for instance over my new drum track, the drum audio is severely delayed, basically a whole measure. I notice my CPU monitoring levels are spiking a bit to the 10-20% range, but still well in the green and I have a fairly powerful new PC with 16 gigs of RAM and 3.5 GHZ Intel processor (dual I think)…
At first I thought it was because of the audio engine settings but I found I couldn’t change them in SONAR, only when EZ Drummer is in standalone mode. Like other plugins I’ve tweaked in the past, I assumed ASIO4ALL would solve the latency issue but I’m not sure…Can anyone help me here or point me in the right direction? The last thing I want to do is to bounce my drum tracks into mp3s and import them as audio files into my project and not be able to edit or record new things on the fly, both with EZ Drummer or my other instruments.
Thanks.
Sorry, I think I fixed it…there was something funny going on with my song project. It might have been too overloaded with tracks and deleted vsts and other plugins. Even when I paired it down, it wasn’t working. So, what I did was I transferred all the tracks one by one to a new project space and reloaded all the vsts (sample tank, guitar rig, ez drummer) and in this new clean slate environment, everything worked. I hit record and there was no delay in hearing the ez drummer track and sample tank track, everything was in unison. Hopefully this carries over to a brand song project when I’m done with this one and I suspect it will. I’m still not sure what the initial problem was but I am relieved it works as it should now.
