Hi, I purchased Superior Drummer 2 as a boxed product a few years ago and I’ve had a system crash so I’m re-installing everything.
I’ve installed and logged in with Toontrack Product Manager and the download and installation of Superior Drummer 2.0 went OK, but the download of Avatar S2.0 Core Library won’t complete. It looks like it completes, but then it kind of goes “back” a few seconds. So it says 19.6 GBI of 19.6 GB downloaded… It says like 10 seconds remaining, then 7 seconds remaining, then 4 seconds remaining, 1 seconds remaining… and then it jumps back to saying “15 seconds remaining”. So it’s like the download never actually gets across the finishing line!
Anybody else have this problem, or any tips about what could be going on?
Thanks in advance.
It sounds like verification keeps failing (causing some part of a file to get redownloaded). Could you try to identify which file it is? Go into the “SL-Avatar_SDX.incomplete” folder in your download folder – you can use “Open Download Folder” in the File menu – and check which file inside has the latest modification time.

Hi Olof, thanks for your reply. I messed around with this until I got the problem resolved. I’m not sure exactly what did it, but strangely, it seems like the download finally completed when I also started the download of another product at the same time within Toontrack Product Manager. I clicked on the download button for EZ Player Pro as well, and when that started downloading, somehow the large 19.6 GB Avatar download finally completed itself.
Now I have another problem, but I don’t think it’s related to the Product Manager as such. I’ve installed the Superior Drummer 2.0 and the Avatar 2.0 Core Library. But I can’t get the product to show up within Sonar X1. Within Sonar I click on “Insert” -> “Soft-synth” … but Superior Drummer is nowhere to be seen. I’ve also tried to “re-scan plugins” but no Superior Drummer shows up, as far as I can see, anywhere within Sonar. What am I missing? I’ve successfully used the product before, on my old Windows 7 PC. Now I can’t figure it out. (Just let me know if I need to move this to a different Forum section).
Okay, odd.
Well, in Sonar you probably need to add the path to the SD2 plug-in. Click Options and Add and select the path where the plug-in was installed (I believe the default is C:Program FilesVstPluginsToontrack for 64-bit) and lastly “Scan VST Plug-Ins”.

Thank you, yes, that did the trick. I thought the path to the SD2 plug-in was C:Program Files (x86)ToontrackSuperiorSuperior Drummer
Thanks!
Hi, I have successfully downloaded the product manager but when I click on “my products” it still brings me to the page where it can be downloaded. I can’t open the product manager or access my previous purchases to check for updates . Any ideas? Thanks, Joe
I accessed my products with the web version option. There I found all of my products. Everything has updated except the SDX avatar core library. For some reason that one will not update after downloading the product manager. I can expand the details and see that there are three items that need to be updated but nothing happens when I try. Everything else is up to date. I still get the product manager download screen when I click on it under “products” Weird.
The Product Manager program, not the web version, must be used to download SDXs.

Thanks for the reply. I have downloaded the product manager but I can’t seem to open it. If i go products>product manager then I get the download screen. If I go My account>my products then I get the product manager download screen again. I have downloaded it a few times. I don’t understand how to launch the product manager. Thanks!!
You have clicked the large MAC or PC button so that it gets downloaded? Then open the downloaded file. Are you on Mac or Windows?

Hi, I am on a Mac. I clicked the Mac option. The download was successfully added to my downloads. I used the product manager installer. It acted as if it was successfully downloaded. I have done a complete restart. When I log in back in to toontrack its as if I never did anything, Thanks for any help.
When you have installed it, you need to launch it. It is located in Applications/Toontrack on your hard disk.

Thank you very much! That was what I was missing. I’m all set! Have a good one!
