I am having the same issue. I just received my copy today and the USB installer for mac is saying “You can’t open the application “Sound Installer MAC” because it may be damaged or incomplete.” I am currently unable to install via USB and looking into using the Product Manager. However I’m attempting to install to an external drive and its giving me issues.

Can you access the contents of the USB drive?
If so, you should be able to install the sounds manually as per the instructions in this FAQ:
    https://www.toontrack.com/faq/im-getting-an-error-could-not-copy-soundb-obw-file-when-installing/
It describes doing it from DVDs but you should be able to do it from the USB drive as well.

From what I remember it might be possible to use the SDX directly
from the USB drive. Use the ‘add path to library’ button in the
settings tab to browse for it. This would be a quick way of testing
whether the SDX itself is damaged or not. I guess you could actually
use it for real like that but it will take longer to load the sounds and
that is bound to be annoying for this SDX.

I’m having the same issue as the OP – blank screen where the licence agreement should be and a white screen where the install options should be. I tried copying the SL-ProgressiveFoundry folder manually, but that doesn’t work either. My computer says that some files couldn’t be copied and aborts the process.

Solved: I downloaded the installer from the web version of my account (My Account > My Products), ran the installer and it worked.

    Dear Sirs,

upon installing the PF from a retailer bought copy, the installer for Mac OS on the USB sticks simply shows a white screen where the license agreement and unfortunately the install options have to be chosen. ´cause of the white screen it is impossible to chose an option and therefore it is impossible to install the library. due to technical reasons, at this very moment, a download of the whole 64 GB library would take days for sure so i would rather welcome any suggestion what might cause this problem.

I’m having the exact same issue. My PF USB stick just arrived today, and I’m living with the frustration of trying to get it to work without having to download >60GB.

I’ve looked through the files on the stick, and found that the following are corrupt or unreadable:
    Aversion
    EULA.html
    InstallerConfig
    Name
    SDX-Doc.pdf
    SDX-Keys.pdf
    compoundpresetconf
    instrumentgroups
    kitconf
    micconf
    uberconf

However, the Sounds directory and all the *.obw files therein are readable, as is the GM-padconf file. I’ve also tried the Disk Utility ‘First Aid’ on the USB stick, but it wasn’t able to help out.

So I’ve copied what I can to the /Library directory in the support article, and hope to be able to get the Product Manager to recognize, authorize, and update my new ProgressiveFoundry. I really hope I don’t need to download 64GB to pull off that trick!

Any words of wisdom are most welcome.

Whee, I found a way to make it work. I started downloading the installer in Product Manager, and then hit ‘Pause’. Found where PM was downloading the files to, and copied the whole Sounds directory there from the USB stick. PM verified those files and downloaded the missing ones.

And finally the PF Installer is happily doing its thing. Thanks, Toontrack, for making the Product Manager flexible and forgiving to those who muck with its downloads-in-progress. Maybe a future version could add a “Use Local Installation Media” that could try reading locally first, and hit the internet second.

In any case, thrilled that it’s finally working. Will probably copy good versions of the damaged files back onto the USB stick, in case I ever need to reinstall it.

Hope this tale is useful to anyone with a similar issue!
