I just purchased the Southern Soul EZX. The sounds are great, and will make an excellent addition to my growing collection of EZX expansions.
However, I was very disappointed with the MIDI files that come with this EZX. For one thing, there are not many grooves included – there seem to be fewer grooves and variations than any of the other half-dozen EZX’s I own.
But what bothers me more is that some of the demo grooves on the product page are not included in this EZX:

In particular, the grooves used in the following demos are nowhere to be found in this EZX, and it’s one of the main reasons I bought this product:

Southern Soul EZX – Super Dry Preset (60s)
Southern Soul EZX – Land Of Tape Preset (60s)
Southern Soul EZX – Olden Days Preset (60s)
Southern Soul EZX – Filter Grit Preset (60s)
When you use a groove not one, but SIX times in your demos, it seems reasonable that we should expect to find that groove in the product we purchase. I hope in the future you will ONLY use grooves that are included in the EZX for your demo.
I’ve searched for these grooves using Tap 2 Find. It looks like they probably came from New York Studios volume 2, but I can’t confirm that, because your audio demos are not functioning for that page.

I absolutely LOVE Toontrack products, and I use both EZDrummer and EZKeys all the time for professional purposes. But I am definitely disappointed in this purchase, and in how this product is being marketed. Thanks for reading this – I hope you take this under consideration.
