Hi,
My problem is that I want both stereo and mono outputs from SD to Cubase.
For example I want a mono channel for my kick and a stereo channel for my Overheads.
But SD gives to Cubase only Stero Channels(1/2 stereo, 3/4 stereo etc…)
Is there any way to do this?
You can’t mix outputs between mono and stereo. I use S2 and Cubase Pro 8 everyday. I’ve never found a need to mix mono and stereo outputs when I multiout in Cubase. Are you sending channels out to an analog mixer? Why would you need mono and stereo outputs?

Hi Scott,
I’m having similar issue using Logic Pro X with latest version of Superior Drummer 2.
Isn’t it common in real world recording to have mono mic on kick, snare and stereo on overheads?
I watched a presentation on EZ drummer 2 and noticed on its mixer section that kick and snare were mono while overheads were stereo (as expected).
Does SD2 also have a way to do this?
Thanks for the help in this.
Regards,
Eddy

Are you trying to multi-out into Logic or using the mixer in S2? I don’t use Logic so I don’t know if you can mix stereo and mono channels out from S2 into Logic.
You can multi-out into Logic. See the FAQ below.

It’s because UAD plugins (mono) use less DSP on mono tracks and behave differently too.
It makes complete sense so have mono for kick, snare etc and stereo for overheads and what not. Why this isn’t a feature is beyond me! I have just bought the VSTi and kinda regretting it already 🙁
Can there possibly be an update on the horizon? There’s gotta be!
For Cubase users, we have made a setting in SD3 that enables mono out. This is a special case for Cubase, since it’s hard (if even possible?) in Cubase to route a stereo channel to two separate mono channels. The output busses in SD3 will look like stereo busses, but hard pan left on stereo out 1/2 will be channel 1, hardpan right will be channel 2 etc.

Thanked by: caustixAnything new on this? Is it not possible to send a kit piece out of an SD3 mono output into a, in my case, Logic Pro X mono output?

That’s correct.
It’s still the same problem in SD3.
Disappointing.

I take my comments back about regretting buying SD3. You can send the mono channels to a stereo buss!
🙂
But yea, mono and stereo mixing would be nice inside SD3.
Superior Drummer 3 is excellent! I just didn’t know how to use the thing. Love it.
