Hey there,
I don’t get this whole humanizing part in SD2…
Maybe someone can help me out?
I am using SD2 in logic 9 and I have a MIDI part which has a constant velocity of 90.
Since I can’t find an “Apply Humanize” or whatever button from SD2 I thought I could sent the MIDI track out of Logic to my interface MIDI-Out and record it back throug the interefaces MIDI-In and than the Humanize funcionality of SD2 will handle the rest… but nope: The recorded MIDI-Track has also the same constant velocity of 90.
I’m pretty new to this whole MIDI stuff…. and I’m pretty sure I read somewhere something that SD2 has an inbuilt algorithm which kind of thinks about power hand and so on to create a realistic velocity curve.
Did I get something totally wrong or is there somewhere a mistake in my setup/routing/rerouting…
Thanks
Humanize is only for choosing which samples to play from the sample pool. Without it the playback would feature the machine gun effect that is typical for… well, less natural sounding drum samplers. It has nothing to do with the actual timing of the drummer or will it change velocities of MIDI.

Ooooooooh boy :D… Where i my mind?
Thanks!
I feel so unbelievably stupid right now…
at least it’s safe to say that I’ve already spent my daily “5-minutes-of-extraordinary-stupidity”-token.
