what version number of EZDrummer2 is displayed in the plugin interface?
have you downloaded and installed all of the latest updates?

Version 2.1.1. And yes, I am quite certain I have installed all the updates. I have only owned the program for a little less than a month.

Oddly enough, it appears to be working now. Not sure if this is something that just happens at random, as the last time I opened the program within logic earlier today, I encountered the above mentioned issue.

I know and have experienced graphics issues on Yosemite for random programs. It is a documented APPLE issue.
but i’ve not had any program or plugin freeze up as yet.
how much RAM is installed in your MacBook Pro?

Please see if you can find a pattern of events or processes leading up to the issue.

I have 8 gigs of Ram on board. Yeah, I’m currently trying to observe if there’s a pattern here.

I have the same issue – EZDrummer 2 does not work at all for me on OS X 10.10.3. But it also didn’t work on 10.10.2. Can’t trigger the sounds, exactly as you describe. I have completely erased my MBP three times with fresh install of everything and always ends up the same, unable to use EZDrummer 2 at all.

After updating to Yosemite I’m literally not making any music now because Toontrack software was the core of my workflow.

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

OK, I’ve maybe found a work-around. It seems that I also can’t preview any midi files within EZD2 BUT if I drag a midi file onto the track in Logic then press play then go back to the EZDrummer 2 plugin I am then able to trigger the sounds. Haven’t given this any real testing but that process just worked for me now.

Did you contact Toontrack support about this? It would be good to see if there is an issue that can actually be rectified properly (it may be a Logic/Yosemite issue though rather than Toontrack issue). I don’t like having to use work-arounds so I probably still won’t use EZD2 unless I get things working properly.

    Cheers,

I’ve had a very similiar problem. Running Ezy Drummer 2 on a Mac Book Pro 11.6.4 on Big Sur and couldn’t get my Alesis Nitro Mesh kit to trigger Ezy Drummer or Logix Pro X at all. All drums in Ezy Drummer would trigger when using the mouse only.

The Nitro kit wasn’t being recognised on my computer at all. Interesting enough when I plugged everything into an older version Mac Book Pro I have, everything worked fine.

After rebooting my newer Mac a few times and going to settings on the tool bar in Ezy Drummer, it recognised the Nitro Kit – so I selected that, and all is triggering perfectly when I am using the Alesis kit as a standalone with Ezy Drummer.

The problem I have now is that when I boot up Logic Pro X I still can’t trigger Ezy Drummer as a plugin in Logic Pro using my Alesis Nitro. However it will trigger when I use the mouse on the plugin – but not through the kit. After trying Logic Pro, when going back to going ‘stand alone’ – Triggering Ezy Drummer directly with my Nitro Mesh kit the kit does not trigger Ezy Drummer. I have to restart the computer and then it finds it midi connection again. Basically if I stay away from Logic Pro, everything triggers and works – as soon as add Logic Pro in to the equation it breaks!

    Any suggestions?
