Hey sounds like a dumb question but i am really confused now.
I have an Alesis DM6 kit which i have hooked up to my laptop and is triggering sounds through EZdrummer successfully
however i am experiencing latency which i am trying to bring down.
The problem.
The Alesis DM6 module uses a usb type b for its midi output and usb type a to plug into a pc. So how can i connect this module
to the midi on an audio interface and then connect that interface to my pc
any help greatly appreciated thanks.
Latency isn’t caused by cables. If you have things connected and can trigger sounds successfully it is most likely that you’re not using a good ASIO driver/audio interface.
If you’re using the built in audio of the laptop I’d suggest getting the ASIO4ALL driver. That audio driver allows the built in audio to playback with a lower buffer setting. If the laptop specs are good (I don’t know, you don’t say what they are), you should be able to run at a 128 sample buffer (64 buffer is better) and have a closer to ‘real time’ playback.
