Hi all,
Background: I’m trying to simply practice along to tracks with a yamaha DTX520 drum kit, running through a roland USB/midi cable, to connect to EZDrummer, running through Toontrack Solo. This is on a core i5 laptop using Win8.1 64.
I have had some lag issues, and was pointed towards ASIO4All as a general-purpose, low-latency driver. It works pretty well. HOWEVER I cannot play backing tracks along WITH the EZDrummer samples as it seems ASIO4All overrides or disables the standard windows sound drivers.
I’m wondering if there is a fix for this? It seems like an obvious thing for lots of people to want their software to do.
I’m looking at a PreSonus AudioBox USB (I’m on a tight budget), which will have its own dedicated ASIO drivers. Will these cause the same issues as ASIO4All? Will this PreSonus device (basically being a second, external sound card) mean I can play the EZDrummer sounds AND backing tracks from Windows Media Player, Spotify, Youtube, etc?
