    No.

Well, unless you count saving user presets and using
program change to change between them.

So no way at all to control or map those parameters? Why? I would like t control like if it was a drum machine.

Can it be done with superior drummer?

Well, we have no ambition to make this a software where
you can fully edit your ‘projects’ via MIDI. However, we aim
for typical controls, like faders and knobs in the mixer, to be
automated by host or MIDI during rendering. We also offer
some rudimentary support for people who want to use the
software live: such as changing EZX and preset and starting
and stopping playback of the internal MIDI track.

No. We know that our blind users would love it, though, so you
are not alone in wishing for these kind of features. But there
are few of you so you had better be loud ;-)

    Well, thanks for responding.

    Why? Because it’s a drum machine, or isn’t it…

I don’t think this is some whacky crazy request – change the drum sounds and their pitch using a knob instead of my mouse.this is hardly a case of “fully edited” projects but rather basic common sense functionality – or am I missing something…

Blind users? Like not using a mouse?

What does this mean? How can I be loud? How abouti buy your software if ur can do what I need it to do?

I really like your software by the way!

I think Olle is referring to enough users making a Request in the ‘Requests & Feedback’ section.

Am I alone in this? Is this a feature people are asking for? When I started using the demo it was one of the first things I looked for. It would make the software ridiculously awesome. Who wants to use a mouse and click thru these things that should easily be mappable.

I’m curious if there is a way to map the chords in the Circle of Fifths within EZ Keys to midi keys or pads or even the computer keys. So, for example – Chord I (C) is on number 1 on my keyboard and ii (bm) is on number 2 etc…

Between this feature and the drum features I talked about, these things would really make me absolutely LOVE this software. I already like it very very much – but these are quite frustrating creative limits – although the software is pretty great.

If these features were available or possible I would ditch the demo and absolutely purchase this software as soon as possible (aka NOW).

Would love to hear feedback or any helpful replies. Can this be done?

I realize this reply is 3 1/2 years later but I am still not seeing this important functionality in my SD3.

Here’s the deal: in live playing situations, I’d like for the standalone SD3 software to be “ridiculously awesome :)” and be able to accept incoming MIDI program changes for both Kits and CC commands to change out individual instruments.  Why?  Because my band is controlling our song / background tracks using Ableton Live (scenes), and setting up our instruments for each song using MIDI program change commands.  My Roland Td-30KV using SD3 in my case.

So, if for a song I need my hi-hat to sound like Bonham’s (add tamborine-stack), or in the middle of a song I need drums to be different (i.e. more compressed) just for the intro (U2 Elevation for example), need those kit and/or instrument switches to happen automated with a Ableton Live’s MIDI change signal.   Ableton, BTW, running on a separate computer (not SD3 as a VST).   Hence, capability in SD3 running standalone.   Also, tell me please f I’ve missed it, and SD3 can do this already.

Superior Drummer 3 can do mixing stuff using CC values. For example, lower the volume of a stack so that it disappears from the audible drums, change the mixed in audio in a compressor to make it more or less compressed. If you need a certain instrument to be swapped out completely, it may be enough to stack the articulation you want from the new instrument, and instead of changing the instrument you can decrease the stacked volume and increase the original articulation volume, again using CC.

Controlling pitch through MIDI would be awesome in the context of using Evans Drum Sensors.  I would be able to control the pitch – just like in real life – based on the pressure I apply to the head with my hand.  Add my vote.
