Using the gear listed above with all the latest updates and firmware, I have some odd issues:
– When using EzD2 in standalone mode, drum volumes are painfully low compared to cymbal volumes. However, hi-hat functionality is great.
– When I open EZd2 through Logic X, the drum volumes are much better, but my hi-hat controller inputs aren’t recognized (hats always sound open)
– When I choke my crash, I get a kick drum sound instead.
Any ideas?
Hi,
which version number is displayed in the EZdrummer 2 interface?
Are you selecting the same E-drum MIDI Preset in the Menu?
In the Project Settings, do you have any Input Filters Enabled on the MIDI page?

Thanks for your reply. Here are the details:
which version number is displayed in the EZdrummer 2 interface? 2.0.2
Are you selecting the same E-drum MIDI Preset in the Menu? I’m selecting the Alesis edrum settings in standalone mode…when using EZD2 through Logic, the interface shows that no edrum settings have been selected (Menu/Edrums/Manufacturer/None
In the Project Settings, do you have any Input Filters Enabled on the MIDI page? No, none.
And if you select the Alesis E-drum MIDI Preset in the plugin in Logic X?

I seems to behave normally then.
Is there a way to have EZD2 save these settings in a global manner, so that it always remembers to choose the Alesis setting? It seems to forget every time I close it. Thanks.
When you have set up EZdrummer 2 the way you want it to be every time you start it (chosen Alesis E-drums for example), go to the main menu/project and select “Set As Default Project”. This will make EZdrummer 2 start with it’s current settings each time. This will also load song blocks on the track etc., so if you want to start it with an empty song track, remove all MIDI before you set is as the default project
