Hi all, I’ve searched for hours on how to solve this with no luck. Am I able to manually trigger drums hits in EZD 2 using a midi keyboard inside of Ableton Live 9? When I run EZD2 standalone outside of Ableton I can drum away using the keyboard to trigger whatever hits I want using a Novation Impulse 49 but when I have EZD 2 running in Ableton I’m only able to “play” the drums with mouse clicks by clicking on the set pieces. The keyboard and it’s drum pads produce no EZD sound inside Ableton. I would prefer to use it inside Ableton so I could alter my midi grooves and move stuff around easier. I’m pretty sure I have it all set up correctly within Ableton as the keyboard works fine as a mixer, playing keys using EZKeys, Trilian, Omnisphere, etc. There must be a setting I don’t have right within Ableton? Is there anyone that has had the same issue and was able to resolve it? I appreciate any help.
EZ Drums & Superior 2.0 - EZBass - Fractal Audio - Too Many Guitars
I am currently wondering about this myself. I am very new to all this technology, but it would be easier if I could program the EZD2 drum set to my regular computer keyboard or my Novation LaunchKey 25 doing it with a mouse is so time consuming do to you will only be able to add one drum set piece at a time. For me I’m not sure if it is on the Ableton side or the EZD2 side or if it can actually even be done.
To see if the MIDI notes gets through to EZdrummer 2, open up a drum property on any drum (klick the arrow beneath the snare for example). If you there open the Details pane, on the lower right corner you’ll see the latest “MIDI in” note received by EZdrummer 2.
I haven’t used Live so much that I can help you with the settings there unfortunately.
