Hi there
I bought Superior 2 and the Music City SDX recently and I’m very happy with the results. No surprise really as I knew about Superior from other users and some CD releases where I’ve been involved in the production.
Now I want to purchase EZD 2, mainly to use the sound libraries in Superior where you can layer kit pieces and create your “own” drumkit. But…I’ve heard from other users that it doesn’t work. After some research I found this video from Toontrack where it’s stated that an update should be released this week in order to address the issue:

The last update I can see is 2.3.2. Am I missing something…or is there a delay? I’d appreciate some status update here as I can’t find it mentioned anywhere. It *might* be because I don’t see any forum for Superior, only pre-sales? I’m not sure what I’m supposed to see, but I think something is missing as my products are registered and authorized.
Also, I see that the system requirements for EZD 2 is Windows 7 or newer. That should be clear enough…but it’s not really that clear as the 2.3.2 Superior update is also Windows 7 or newer, but it install and runs flawlessly on my XP setup. This makes me wonder if the system requirements really mean that you don’t test the applications and don’t provide support for XP/Vista spesific issues? I fully understand if that’s the case, but I’m willing to take the risk if it’s just a matter of support. Besides, I presume that the libraries will work on any OS as it’s just audio files (in a container for the SDX addons).
Thanks in advance,
Tobben
Sorry, the timestamp got lost when I linked to the Youtube video. Please forward to approximately 17:04 for the announced update.
Yes, we are working on the Superior Drummer update. It’s not completely done but needs some testing before we can release it safely.
We will move to Win 7, OSX 10.6 during the year. Not sure at the moment if that will apply to the next Superior Drummer update or not.

Thanks for the reply. I’m a little bit confused though…. “we will move” as in: I can probably run EZD2 on XP if I purchase it?
Also, is there a Superior forum? Not that I need any further support besides what’s mentioned already, but it’s always interesting to read…
No, EZdrummer 2 is not supported on XP. I was talking about Superior. Sometime during the year we will remove support for XP (as for all other products we make). Not sure when that will happen though.
I can see that you have a Superior Drummer registered to you account. Can you not see: http://www.toontrack.com/forum/superior-help/ If not let me know and we will fix it for you.

Now I can see and get access the Superior forum. Thanks!
I also bought EZdrummer 2 just to get the library available in Superior, and I really hope the Superior patch isn’t too far away.

The update is currently going through our normal testing to make sure it’s solid. I appreciate your patience!

Hi ,
First i’d like to say this post is not ment to be a moan session about Toontrack ditching Win XP but it is dissapointing as many people are still using xp on there machines.
I recently bought EZdrummer 2 after reading on the REAPER forum that EZD2 would install no problem on Win XP but wasn’t offically supported, i also got this response from Toontrack in an email support i submitted.
“We did not test XP to support EZD 2 so we cannot guarantee successful results nor can we provide support if installation/operational functions for EZD 2 occur on XP.”
Which indicates it might install but would not be supported if problems occured, but EZD2 “WILL NOT” install on my XP machine, although another user on the reaper forum has EZD2 installed on his XP machine and running without problems.
I also own Superior drummer, so my question is.
Will i be able to install the EZD2 drum libraries ( Vintage/Modern )onto my Win XP machine for use in SD2 after the SD2 update. ?
This would make me very happy because as it stands i’m not going to get much use out of EZD2 untill such time as i can upgrade my studio DAW.
Cheers
