i run windows 7 64bit, reaper 64bit, ez drummer 64bit. i build tracks note by note using piano roll, sometimes using a groove clip as a starting point and then edit the clip to my liking.
to complete the track quickly i use the same snare hit for everything, the same tom hit for everything, etc. just to get the track finished and the performance correct.
once the overall drum part is correct i want to tweak some of the hits. for example flams sound more realistic when they consist of a left plus right hit, not two left hits or two right hits.
short rolls sound more realistic when alternating left and right hits rather than using only left hits or only right hits.
problem is trying to distinguish a left hit from a right hit by the sound isn’t possible because the difference between them is so subtle.
does a drum map exist so i can see which piano roll key triggers left and right hits for each drum? then i could edit the basic track and substitute left or right hits based on how a drummer would actually play the part.
thanks.
