That depends whether you intend to connect display, keyboard and mouse
to it to control Superior Drummer. Superior is very limited when it comes
to being controlled by MIDI, like changing drum libraries and presets and such.
Playing the drums via MIDI works well, of course 😉 But without using the
GUI you would probably be limited to one fixed drum kit, once you get
your DAW to start up automatically and load a project with Superior Drummer.
Hmm, unless your DAW has some support for changing things via MIDI.

Also a server PC is probably not made to be ‘on the road’.
So although a rack unit it may shake to pieces and drown in
    beer after 3 gigs.

I’m on the fence which way to go with that. I can do the keyboard/mouse/monitor thing but I was thinking that since I have a 15″ touchscreen monitor laying around the house it would be cool to use that instead. I seen people use SD with a touch screen so I know certain functions work with it. I’ve never actually tried to use it with the screen myself.

haha. I think I’m alright on that. I’ve been playing at nursing homes = no beer 🙂

I’m not planning to play gigs with it, I just want better drumming sounds haha. Too bad there isn’t a demo version of SD because I dont want to buy it if I’m not sure it’ll work or not. I guess I’ll have to go look for other software or just save money for a new drumkit with more sounds. Thanks for the help.

Matt1995, did you mean to post somewhere else?
