Hello, EZ Drums will not load in X2 but does fine in X1. Anybody know why? Cakewalk support hasn’t been very helpful.
It can be alot of things. Do you have EZ drummer loaded , can you see the screen but cannot hear the drum sounds? I am currently using X2 64bit on a windows 7pro operating system, if your the same follow me, even if your not, you can reference my paths on your system Im sure! Make sure you installing the proper bit for your Operating System IE, 32bit or 64bit, this is a common problem. Also, make sure the .DLL files are where they should be, here is my path on my pc, C:program filesCakewalkVstpluginstoontrack64bit – in this folder you should have all your toontrack .DLL files! Now, pay attention, in your C:program files (x86)toontrack folder you should have a folder for EZdrummer and in that folder any addons for the kit should have their own folders, IE, EZX_MetalMachine and so on, along with these following folders, HelpMenu, Midi, Sounds. Make sure these folders and Files are there. Also in your C:Program Files (x86) CakewalkVst plugins folder should be copies of all of the toontrack .DLL files. Again make sure you using the proper bit either 32bit or 64bit. Now if these files are in their folders as they should be, make sure the path is set in X2 like this!
Open X2 and then under the UTILITIES tab, select Cake walk plug-in manager. In the VST Configuration box, select SCAN FOR PLUGINS.
After its done scanning, go to the Plug-in Categories box to the left, select VST INSTRUMENTS (VSTi) and check to see if EZ drummer is listed there.
If it is not then X2 cannot find your .DLL files. DO THIS-> go to the VST configuration box again, select OPTIONS and manually ADD the folder path to the .DLL files, make sure to add both your progem files path and program files (x86) path, and then rescan! Sometimes you have to add the file path in X2, because its stupid, but your smart, I hope this helps, if it doesnt, Im willing to speak with you over the phone to get you where you need to be. Send me an email at bigjguitar@gmail.com and Ill get with you bro, no one shoud be without the sounds of EZ drummer!

Hello,
I followed all the above instructions step by step to my dismay.
Unfortunately, This hasn’t worked!!
Still no EZDrummer with Sonar X2!!!
EZDrummer loads BUT, the samples fail to load and do not fill up the sample load progress bar!!!
I’ve searched around the net for a way to get this to work but seems like no one has come up with proper answers or any solutions.
I bought Sonar X2 around 6 months ago…however due to Sonar refusing to load, I’ve hardly used it. I thought Sonar would be a good replacement for SONY ACID 7!
What a mistake! If you can help me please email me at DanielFromTafeYahoo.xxx.au *EMAIL EDITED by Forum Admin*
Fond regards,
Daniel

I am having the same problem as David. Ezdrummer shows up in Sonar X2 but does not load any sounds and is completely useless. I have the latest version and am using Windows 7. Funny how it worked with my other computer running Vista just fine but won’t work with Windows 7 properly.
Christopher_Paul,
please post in the Support section as linked above. This is The Studio Corner for production tips & tricks.
