anybody have ez mixs, i running a mac, and logic, from SD, i bus the kick 3/4 snare 5/6 hats 7/8 toms 9/10 ect, to logic bus-ing and apply ezmixs to the buses, the kicks and toms give great tone, but the snare, hats, and cymbols are very thin and high with no real change.
ez mixs has groups, individal, insert, amp, and group bus.
anybody trying to mix there drums this way, is this a good way to do it too, i know theres know right or wrong, but thinking about what ez mixs was made for, FAST EZ MIXING.
Yes EZD and SD2 are bussed here in Logic .
Some of the EZ drummer X-pansions do have a heap of bottom end rolled off the Cymbals and Hats.
I have just simply EQ’d the top end down and put some lower mids back up to the O/Heads with Logics EQ as it is not preset and just dial in exactly what sounds fat in mix context.
There are several ways to approach certain aspects of this, one way is also to have another instance of EZD with only the cymbals loaded and Eq’d to taste,
another option ,using only one instance is to turn of the Drums in the O/head so the O/h mic is acting only as a Cymbal Mic so the EQ can be used more without disturbing the tone of the rest of the kit.
