I have a product suggestion for a Toontrack software tool. It combines the simplicity of an EZ Drummer style interface with the customization of X Drum from Superior.
I purchased Superior primarily to create my own kits from my EZX expansions using the X drum feature. For simply choosing pieces from different EZ expansions there are just too many options presented in Superior (and that is not really its intended purpose). This is especially true for a user who is using the software primarily for triggering from E drums and even for someone who is creating MIDI drum tracks for songs.
A new product concept is to allow the ability to mix the various drum pieces from a users collection of installed Toontrack EZX expansions. A software product more like EZ Drummer rather than Superior. The groove library would be included along with an EZ style mixer. The primary function would be to mix and match the different kit pieces from the expansion packs. A snare from DFH, a kick from Pop / Rock and so on. Just like an individual EZX has the drop down menu on each kit piece this application would include the various kit parts (from all the installed expansions) in the drop down menu or a sound preview like Superior. So if a user had three EZX expansions they would see a list of all the snares or kicks or rides, etc., from the installed expansions. The application would then combine, update, and show the users custom kit that was just created. The mixer would also reflect the custom kit. Essentially a simplified X Drum concept for EZ Drummer.
