Hi,
I’ve been searching around, but can’t find any help on this subject (at least none that makes sense). I have the following
EZ Drummer (with Toontrack solo)
Cubase SX
Millenium MPS 100 e drums
Presonus FP10
I’ve connected the Millenium MPS100 to my FP10 via a Midi lead. I’ve got Toontrack solo up and have it set so the audio output goes via the FP10 rather than the inbuilt laptop speakers. What I cannot figure out how to do is set up the edrums to trigger the sounds from EZdrummer. I’ve read through some instructions and I THINK the issue is this:
When I go into Toontrack solo, select the MIDI devices and click the check box on the FP10 I get a message saying “could not set all the selected MIDI devices”. I don’t know how to fix this. Reading through the instructions of the MPS100, there doesn’t seem to be anything I need to set on it in order for it to act as a MIDI trigger. Also, I’ve never used MIDI at all before, I know my FP10 works fine as an audio interface, but this is my first time using MIDI with it.
Finally, I can’t seem to find EZdrummer in cubase. Again, I’ve not used MIDI before, so I don’t know what I’m really looking for to get it running.
Please help me!
Ok, I’ve managed to get it up and running in toontrack solo, but I’m still lost in Cubase. Any advice to get it up and running in Cubase would be much appreciated.
The thing is that EZdrummer is only supported for E-drum use together with Toontrack solo, unlike its bigger brother Superior 2, since it has no means of changing notes and setting up the CC trig scheme for the hihats, which Toontrack solo does for you when you select ‘E-drums’ as Controller type.
If using E-drums inside Cubase is a must, may I suggest looking into any of the cross-grade deals out there for Superior 2?

John
