Yeah, you mean to separate the MIDI from the chord progression you have entered so that it is superimposed over whichever pattern comes up as you cycle through patterns.

I agree, that should be a feature, if it is not possible now.

No, it’s not possible to ‘freeze’ the chord progression in the Song Track and drag new MIDI on top of the progression.

It’s an interesting idea for sure, but not sure if it’s possible to implement.

I just spent an hour with the demo… I gotta say, having to redo the chord structure every time I try a new style is a deal killer! That’s such a basic real world feature, I can’t believe it was left out. I’m gonna hold out on buying this until that’s resolved.

Yeah, this is a major pain, and so obviously basic to functionality, I can only believe that they were/are in the process of implementing this, but released the 0.9 version of EZKeys to get it out there for us to use. And I’m OK with that, I’d rather have something than nothing… but they should focus on getting this completed.

I would like to take a progression I have written, (or one from the midi files)
and try it out with different midi clips, variations, styles, etc,
but so far I see no EZway to do this.

New update out today…You shall like it!

Wow. It took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to operate it with the chord saver. I’m not a manual reader, so was a little flummoxed for a very brief while.

I’ve been playing with it for hours now. I haven’t had this much fun since I got it. Makes all the difference.

There is still some room for improvement for when the MIDI track is too long for the chord progression that is saved. If the MIDI is too long, a user should be able to slide the piece that he wants to play in position, snapping on measures. I’ve got some entire piano songs in MIDI that I can’t audition anything but the first 4-8 measures in this way.

There is a workaround inside EZKeys though. Drag the longer piece in, edit out everything you don’t want (trim on both sides), move that edited piece back into the browser and audition against your chords that way.

Great update though! Keep it coming.

    Thanks,

Aarrhhhgg. I have asked so many times for EZKeys to remember my chord sequences, and now my wishes have been granted? And I didn’t notice the update. I could have spent all day Yesterday having fun with this. But today there is a lot of work I need to do …
