Hi,
I am currently using an SPD-30 with an FD-7 hi hat pedal along with SD 2.3. I’m having the hardest time getting the pedal to work well with SD. The pedal opens way too fast (too sensitive). I’ve also tried and FD-8 and had the same issue. There doesn’t seem to be any adjustment on the SPD-30 that helps.
Has anyone had success with an SPD-30 and any hi hat pedal? I’d be willing to buy a new one if I knew it would work well
Thanks!
mike
Hi,
please check out the curves on the Mapping page in Superior 2. They may at least serve as a starting point if you need to tweak further.

Sorry you had to wait four years for this but I just figured this out. The counter intuitive trick is set whatever pad you want as your hi hat to the midi note number for closed hi hat. Do this on both layers of the pad according to the spd 30. In my case I was trying to use it with EZ drummer and the note number was 42. Then control that pad via a hi hat pedal connected to the spd 30. Let the vst interpret the pedal motions and change the sounds.
